My First DSLR - the Canon EOS 30d

I bought my first DSLR, the Canon 30d in August 2008. It was a hard decision to make since i was pushing myself to upgrade to a professional DSLR. I was pretty much ruining on a Canon Powershot A 95. I knew that canon was the camera for me after exhausting research and discussion i had with people using different brands of SLR's.

Okay so why the old 30d when you had the 40d pretty much out for some time and had good deals on them ?

The answer is simple. Budget constrains. This made me analyse whether i would need the additional bells and whistles of the 40d to start of with. i don't seem to regret my decision as the 30d is a great camera.

What did i achieve with the upgrade?

I got to know that this was real serious business where less was more. I had to justify to myself that i was not wasting money buy spending so much on a camera and the lenses. I felt like a kid roaming around with no focus or directions. Its from here i started picking up on the technical aspects of photography in terms of controlling Light, Depth Of Field, Composition etc.

Who helped me learn the basics?

Who else other than Scott... haven't you heard about Scott ? you better. This is a no nonsense guy who will teach you all that you need to know about digital photography in his book "The Digital Photography Book".
